My favorite past time family tradition was simply gathering with my extended family at my grandparents house. It’s so hard to get everyone together at the same time these days so celebrations are done with just my immediate family. I do love that but I would love to spend the holidays with everyone.
Taking my daughter around looking at Christmas lights, like I did when I was little
Driving around and looking at Christmas lights.
We love the day after Thanksgiving to put a Christmas movie in and decorate for Christmas. And then on Christmas morning I always make breakfast for everyone.
My fondest memory as a child was when my parents would drive us to Lancaster to view all the Christmas lights on Christmas Eve in our new Christmas pajamas in preparation for Santa.
My favorite Christmas tradition is going to Christmas Eve Candle Lighting Services at church and then driving around the Coshocton area looking at Christmas lights and luminaries…I did this as a child with my family and it’s something we have done with our kids and now grandkids. Once we are home, each kid picks a gift from under the tree to open on Christmas Eve. My parents did it with my sister and I. I did it with my kids, and now the grand babies! Hopefully they carry on the tradition too!
My favorite is baking fresh cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning. We do this every year and its literally the only day a year I bake cinnamon rolls. We have them before we open gifts. The kids look forward to them as much as they do the gifts. Its such a nice thing.
Making meat pies with my family. A yearly tradition as long as I can remember.
Choosing and putting up the Christmas Tree with my boys.
My favorite Christmas tradition is trying to duplicate my Dad’s Christmas sugar cookies. The day after thanksgiving was baking day, he’d make 3-4 dozen for all five of us girls & the grandkids when they came along. Cookie packages were highly anticipated!! Dad passed away 6 years ago but each Christmas season I get out the cookie recipe & am reminded of all the love that he had for us & the season.
Opening our Christmas pajamas on Christmas Eve night and trying to get a good picture with all of us and the dog in front of the tree!
My favorite Christmas tradition would have to be spending time with my husband late on Christmas Eve. We get our kids to bed, wrap all the presents, and then curl up in bed and watch “White Christmas”. We usually fall asleep before the movie is over, but it’s something we both look forward to every year.
Our church candle light Christmas Eve service is so beautiful. The last song is Silent Night. All the lights are turned off except for candles on the windows and decorations, then the first candle gets lite by the Christ candle then is used to lite all the other candles. It’s very humbling and sounds beautifully sung A Capello!
My favorite Christmas tradition is having a white elephant exchange at my Aunt’s house and everyone fighting over silly gifts. And also our whole family nerf war! So many laughs and so much fun.
My favorite Christmas tradition is baking cookies. This tradition started when I was a child baking with my mom. I continued the tradition with my kids and now for the first time will be baking with my granddaughter. 🌲🎅
My favorite tradition was always going to my moms on Christmas day
My favorite Christmas tradition is setting up my mom’s Nativity scene. She used to spend so much time carefully unpacking it and placing each piece perfectly to be on display throughout the holiday season. My mom passed away 23 years ago, shortly after Christmas. Having her Nativity scene passed on to me and being able to care for and lovingly display it each season, just as she did, makes me feel like she’s near during Christmastime.
We always get together for a weekend at my parents house. Mom cooks a Christmas dinner for us all. (36 people) spend the night. Play games and eat alot of snacks.
